When a person slays one of the children of the gods 'dragons' they are sometimes imbued with a portion of the dragon's dying spirit. This grants them powers.
Relic
In Relic, the two henchmen under The Bard both use dragon magic, which means each of them at some point in their lives killed a dragon.
